Meaning Of  Life

Rain. It hurtled him. It has been 2 years yet it still hurts him. Ja-Jun Mimiako watched out the window as the rain poured. The rain reminded him his past. That faithful day when it rained. Then he saw people running trying to get away from the rain. ‘People they are so pathetic…..Weak.’ He thought. They are weak. At least compared to him.

Then he saw couple walking in hand to hand. ‘Yet they are very lovable….’ And he saw children running across the street ‘… And full of joy.’ The tear started to form in his eyes. ‘I wish…’ then he turned his head away from the window in the shame. ‘….Hmph, what’s the point of wishing that can never come true… Just forget about it.’

He moved toward the mirror. A tall mirror that showed his whole body. It has been two years since that day. At that day he lost everything. Everything that he cared for, longed for and dreamed of. At that one faithful raining day. He stared at his reflection on the mirror as he removed his headband that covered his forehead.

When he removed the headband, there was something that no one has. It was something only his race has. The third eye. This third eye gave him power and strength, and only race of demons have them. He had to hide them if he wanted to live his life among humans.

When he first arrived at this dimension, where humans live, he was surprised that Angels had influenced in this world. The Angels gave idea of good and evil in human mind. Good being an angel, while evil being the demons. So the first impression on him was not very good. He had the whole village after him, simply he had third eye that make him look like a demon. It is kind of ironic since Demons are peaceful creatures only gathering what they need. They are the race of noble worriers, who defended weak and destroyed evil, sort of like the samurai, While Angels were war-like races that destroyed villages after villages, countries after countries, and as if that is not enough, races after races, including his.

His races comes before the big bang. He lived in the Earth where there was no human. In the future, the whole universe was destroyed when the universe was compressed into size of the atom, creating another Big Bang. Then the universe was created again, including the Earth that now lives Human. A pathetic, yet wonderful creature.

Ja-Jun walked to the drawer. He opened it and took out an album. He opened up the album and looked at the pictures of his long lost family and his friends. He remembered each of them clearly. His Father. He was one of the best warrior of the village. He was also the teacher who thought how to fight to him and his rival Be-Jun.

‘Be-Jun Tashimo’ He turned the page and there was a picture of very beautiful girl in her favorite armor, and her weapon of choice. Her hair was light green and was tied to by the circular pin, by the length of the neck and it came down half way to her waist. She was his greatest rival but there was something else for. Tears were forming in his eyes again just thinking that she doesn’t exist anymore. Try to ignore it but he can’t. He loves her. Not just little crush or friendship, but love. He loved her Tomboyish style. Sure she had two breasts, compared to normal 4 breast for demonic race, but he didn’t care. He loves her. Just two years ago he would have denied right away, but now he can’t. After that faithful day, he just couldn’t deny anymore. Still clutching the picture tightly, and crying for his lost and loved one, he felt asleep.

Chapter - 1        The Faithful Day.

       “Be-Jun Your boyfriend is here.”

Be-Jun was getting ready for training when she heard her sister. When she heard the word ‘Boyfriend’ her blood started to boil

“HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND!!!” She yelled

Ja-Jun was waiting for his rival to get ready for today’s lesson when he heard yell followed by loud bang, indicating that Be-Jun is out.

“You are late.” He said looking at nowhere. He was just sitting lazily against the wall looking up at the sky.

“Shut up” She snapped at him

“Why are you mad? It’s not like I am your boyfriend. Seriously what kind of moron would want to be boyfriend with two breast-girl like you?” he said fully knowing that it would hit her nerve.

“Wh…what?” She started to stare at him, blood boiling again and her hand reaching for her weapon. It was triangular shaped sword. One of the leg was 5 ft, while the other leg was about 1 ft and half. The end has been wrapped with cloth for better grip and there were some signs indicating that it was hers.

Ja-Jun Jumped with his sword as soon as his 6th sense went off telling him that there was danger. Sure enough Be-Jun’s sword was swung at where his head had been. “Take that BACK!” She swung as she yelled. She was easy to pick on.

“Uh, Uh. No way.” Ja-Jun started to tease her as he dodged her attacks. This is the reason why they are rivals. They fight each other a lot. “Comeback here and take your punishment like a warrior!” She yelled as she started to swing at him furiously.

“Nope, not likely.” Ja-Jun smiled as he dodged the deadly blows. He started to run away as Be-Jun followed him, swinging her sword, and yelling her death treats. Soon the main road was filled with dust as Ja-Jun ran toward his training ground while Be-Jun followed him behind, still swinging and yelling. It was the typical day in Shori Village, where they live.

"You are late." Dae-uwun Mimiako said as he saw two of his students arrive at his training area. One of them was his son Ja-Jun and his rival Be-Jun. He was the best warrior of the village and he chose this two as his students because they show greatest promise for their skill. And he was proud of them all.

       "I'm Sorry." they both said.

"What's done is done. Now go to the lotus position and meditate." Mr. Mimiako said.

Both of his students sat in their lotus position and they started to meditate. soon they were glowing as their ki and chi was harnessed. Mr. Mimiako saw this and smiled. they were going to be a great warrior

Few minutes later he told them to get up and practice. They both grabbed their weapon and started to practice. As he watched them it started to rain, but they never stop. they kept on going and going. Their competitive personality was pushing them to limits constantly and thus improving in skills far greater than others.

Mr. Mimiako watched them in the rain as he felt it. A powerful life form was coming near the village. They were on the high hill overlooking the village so he had a good view. he moved toward the cliff and saw several flying figures. He looked closer and gasped.

       They were Angels.

Worst of all their leader was Sachiel, a war cherubim. the most horrifying creature ever existed. he had already wiped our 5 races of creatures on this planet simply for their resources. Those angels were like virus. when their resources were gone they would attack and take from someone else. Even if they were to destroy them.

“Stay here and keep practicing. I have to go to the village to so some village.” He said as he left toward the village to warn them.

“Yes sir.” Said two students as they kept one sparring each other with their weapons.

*************

Few minutes has past as they kept sparring. That’s when Ja-Jun noticed the smoke coming from the village. “Hey Be-Jun. What’s that?” He asked as he pointed toward the Smoke. Be-Jun stopped her weapon and took the notice of the smoke as well.

“It looks like coming from our village.” She said. Than she used her third eye to look closer. “My god! Our village is under attack!” She yelled out.

“We better go help them!” Ja-Jun said as he ran toward the village. Be-Jun followed him as well. They ran as fast as they can, assuming the worst.

When they got to the village, they were horrified. The whole village was burning down. And was on fire. They couldn’t recognize the village they used to live in just a few minutes ago. Just few minutes ago, it was very peaceful, and now it was a war zone.

Ja-Jun quickly moved and stabbed the enemy whose back as turned to him. He took his sword out and stared at the corps.

“Oh my god. It’s angel!” Be-Jun yelled as she noticed the body.

“We better go find my father.” Ja-Jun said as he ran inside the burning village. Be-Jun followed him as well.  As they ran they only decided to look only the front to their destination. All around them there were bodies. Bodies of dead demons. There were bodies of children, women, and all the people they used to know and love. Be-Jun who couldn’t help but look broke into tears, and dropped to the ground. Ja-Jun came and helped her up.

“Come on Be-Jun. We don’t have time for this. We have to find my dad!”

“But… But. That’s my sister, that’s my mother, and that’s the meat butcher. We used to go there everyday to get the meats… And that’s …”

“Be-Jun! They are dead now. We better find my father or we will be dead.” Ja-Jun yelled as he tried to drag her.

“Ja-Jun. Be-Jun. Come in here now.” Said the voice. They turned and saw his father hiding in the house. When they looked closer, he wasn’t hiding. He had rather bad cuts and wounds. They quickly went inside their house. Be-Jun tried to hide her tears but failed badly as she saw more dead bodies she used to know.

“Be-Jun. Ja-Jun. The enemies are too strong. I can’t fight them and you guys can’t fight them. We have to get out of here and fast. Get into that transportation circle.”

“Father than who will perform the magic to transport us.”

“I’ll. I’m badly injured and I don’t have long time. Get in there now.” Mr. Mimiako. Said as he pushed them into the circle. Then he said his word. Soon a thin transparent protective cylinder came and surrounded them. Be-Jun and Ja-Jun banged in the walls but it was no use.

“Hold the hand, so you both would be transported to same place! And this is an order.” Mr. Mimiako said. The children gulped and hold their hands.

The spell was working as the circle began to emit weary light.

       “Ja-Jun?” Be-Jun called

       “Yeah.”

       “Remember where we first met?”

“Yeah. It was the town hall tree. I was climbing it when you came and decided to race me on climbing.” He said

“Look.” She said as she pointed. She was pointing toward the tree where they first met. It was burnt to the ground. “Ja-Jun I’m scared.” She said.

Ja-Jun was bit taken back by her truth. She never said that she was scared. He wondered if she was joking. But knew that it was truth as she grabbed his hand tighter. “I’m scared too.” He answered and squeezed her hand.

“Well. Well. Well. If it isn’t mighty Mimiako.” Said the new comer. It was an angel. He had three set of wings. With golden armor, and a golden staff.

       “Sachiel!” Mr. Mimiako yelled.

Sachiel moved fast and stabbed him in the chest, blood coming out from the other side. He was obviously dead as the staff was aimed at his heart. He turned around and saw two others in a transportation circle. The spell was already finished, and was about to be transported. One of the guy was banging on the wall and screaming at him

“Well. I can’t let them leave.” Sachiel said as he shot a beam from his hand and struck the Protective barrier.

Ja-Jun got scared as the Angel shot the beam at him. The Barrier didn’t hold it as it blew up around him. The white light engulfed him as the spell started to take the effect. Then another light came and blew up giving him immense pain. His feat was starting to disappear as the spell kept on going. Bit he Last blast had been to mush as he lost his grip on Be-Jun’s hand.

       “Be-Jun!” He yelled.

“Ja-Jun! No” Be-Jun yelled back and was completely gone.

**************

Ja-Jun woke up and opened his eyes. He was in some sort of forest, and the animals he had never seen before. He immediately got up and start calling for Be-Jun, He yelled and yelled her name, but there was no answer. The spell worked. He was transported to unknown place. But he lost his hand with Be-Jun and she was transported to some place else. It could be different world or it could be different time. He wished it as different place and started to look for her. For years he couldn’t find her.

*************

       *KNOCK KNOCK*

The knock had awaken Ja-Jun. He moved the picture he had fallen sleep with, to the table and set it straight. He rubbed his sleepy eye as he looked at the time. It was 1A.M. Late at this night who could it be. He got up and grabbed a bandanna. He tied it around his forehead to cover his third eye as he walked toward the door.

       There came another knock

“Coming.” He said, Who ever it is, the person doesn’t know what the door bell is. He unlocked and unbolted the door and opened. It was still raining outside and the person was wearing a cloak cover the head as well. ‘Maybe just to get out of the rain.’ He thought.

The cloaked person lifted his head. Looking straight at him. Ja-Jun gasped. This person had three eyes! Just like him. He was lost in words. The cloaked figure lifter her hand and removed the cloth covering the head. Eh cloth was removed to reveal a golden haired girl whom Ja-Jun knew so well. Her face was still beautiful as ever and tears were visible aside from the rain. As she saw him more tears made track to her cheek.

“Ja-Jun.” She said. She broke into cry and hugged him

Ja-Jun said one word as he hugged her back, tears forming in his eyes.

       “Be-Jun.”
