Few month ago I created a story that deals with robots. It is rather nice story and I realized that how close it is to Neon Genesis Evangelion series. So I decided to mix those two together and create History Rewritten. Enjoy !

History Rewritten.

Chapter : 1

“God Damn it!” Touji yelled as he slammed his desk on the table. “Why is this happening to me?!?”

“Relax bro, all you need is another player. Right. I mean the requirement is 5 people for the game.” Said Rei while playing with her short blue hair. “Right Asuka?” she asked to her best friend. Asuka nodded. She had golden yellow hair tied in a pony tail, showing her sweet and innocent personality.

“But where?!?” Touji yelled “Everyone is at least in one team. I really wanted to join the team you know! Even Hikari joined the team ‘girl power’!”

“Chill man. You gonna blow up soon.” Said Kensuki who was worried about his friend.

“Ummmm. Actually there is another person.”

Everyone turned toward Asuka who said it.

“Who ?”

“His name is Shinji. He just moved here and not a lot of people knows him. I know him because my teacher asked me to help him for few days in school. I’ll go call him now.” Asuka said and got up and went to the nearest phone booth.

RRRRRIIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGG RRRRRIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGG

The phone rang inside the Ikari residence. Inside the house there is only one person, who was looking at the picture. His eyes shows immense pain and coldness. He looks at the ringing phone and picked it up.

“Hello?”

<Hi. Shinji? It’s me Asuka. You know the one helped you out in first day in school? >

“Oh. Hello.”

“That depends.”

“C.S. ? “

<Um. We will explain to you here. Can you please help us? >

“Okay.”

<Great! Meat me here in Johnny’s Arcade. >

“Alright.”

-CLICK-

Asuka hang up the phone and walked toward the table where her 3 friends and fellow teams are seated. She moves to her seat and sits down.

“So.?” Asked Kensuki.

“He is coming here. That’s funny. He doesn’t even know what the C.S. is.”

“So. How is he like?” Asked Rei getting curious about the new boy.

“Well he has short black hair, and a brown eye. He is kinda cold and … You have to see him to understand. Otherwise he is very friendly.”

Few minute later they heard the chime indicating that the door is opening. They turned around and saw the boy fitting the Asuka’s description.

“Hey Shinji over here.” Said Asuka said as she got up and moved next to him. Hey gang this is Shinji. Shinji that is Kensuki, Touji and his sister Rei my best friend.”

“Hey.”

“Was sup.”

“Hello.”

“Nice to meet you all.” Said Shinji. “Now about he help you need.”

“Well all you have to is get into the simulation and play the game called C.S.” said Touji.

“What is C.S. ?” Shinji asked.

Touji signed. This guy didn’t even know what the C.S. game is. It is the most famous game around! Kensuki answered him “C.S. stands for Combat Suit. About years ago team of scientist found a way to connect the human brain to the computer. Using this technology Gainax created a simulation game called Combat Suit. Basically you comment humanoid robots with you brain wave. No controlers needed, although you need to get used to a little. This game has gotten so famous that it even has a tournament. Even in the Olympics. And we need at least 5 people to make a team and join the team.”

“Alright I’ll help you guys. Although I really don’t think I could do it.” Shinji said.

“Cool. Come on. Since we got 5 people we have to take the entrance test. Come on.” Said Touji as he ran toward the clerk.

Soon, they were all inside their Simulation room. They sat comfortably with their hand in the two controls. Soon the screen lit up and showed computer generated surroundings.

Shinji sat down on his own Simulation chair. Soon one of his screen lit up showing Touji.

“Listen up. This is Entrance exam. If we win this we can enter the tournament. The objectives of this mission is to destroy the enemy C.S. units or their base. And we have to defend our base also. We will get a typical C.S. nicknamed Sparrow. This unit is one of the earlier model and is extremely weak. But is very agile. The enemy unit is nicknamed Zero. Their armor is extremely thick and has horde of missiles and guns. So watch out. Now choose your weapon and let the game begin.” Then the Com went off.

Shinji mentally commended to choose the weapons. He choose 2 missile launchers that hold 8 heat seeking missiles each on his back, a 3 barrel machine gun for his right arm and a laser beam for his left hand. Then he entered the game.

When he entered he already saw his other companion’s unit. All heavily armed. They were all same. About 50ft. in height and straight humanoid looking. They all had one eye, and their designs were very simple. Shinji signed. The only difference was their colors.

^ GAME START^

The screen read as it indicated that the game begun.

<Alright. Shinji you stay here in the base. Since this is your first time piloting the C.S. you will need some time to adjust and practice. Just practice here in the safe while we go kick their butt.> Touji said as he let his C.S. flare it’s booster and flied off. The others did the same as they followed Touji. Shinji was all alone. Shinji did not practice. He was already very familiar with the controls. He just looked at the main map and the way they are headed and said one word.

“Morons.”

Touji loved this game. It is like fighting in real life except that there is no pain. Best of all he doesn’t need any joysticks. All he has to is will the computer. Son the movement is all smooth and refined. He smiled as he willed his computer to slow down and open the commo to the other C.S.

“Hey. We are about to reach Enemy base. Slow down and decent. I’m sure they have couple of SAMs. We will land and proceed with Forest as our cover.” Then he landed his C.S. Soon others followed.

4 heavily armed C.S. walked toward the enemy base. It didn’t take a while to get there. When they reached the base they stopped.

<Hey Bro. Don’t you think this is too easy? > Asked Rei

“ You are right. The base is too quiet. I’m sure they have noticed us by now but they are not even firing their defense system. And where are the enemy Units?”

Then the com to Shinji’s Unit came on to all Units.

< Hey guys all 5 enemy units are here in front of our base. I repeat all enemy units are in front of our base. And if I were you I would get out of there. You just walked right into their trap. >

<Huh? What? > Asked Kensuki

Touji looked around. That’s when he noticed all the bombs planted near them. “Shit this is the trap. Everyone get outta here !” Touji said as he flared his Booster. The others did the same but they couldn’t get of the ground when all the bomb around them blew up. And the screen went blank.

“Shit!”

^Unit Destroyed.^

Said the screen as the main hatch of the C.S. emulator machine opened up. Touji came out, his pride broken. “Damn it!” He yelled as he punched the emulator. Then a hand came up and touched his shoulder.

“Come on Touji. Let’s see how the Shinji is doing.” Said Asuka.

“Why bother. He is the beginner. It’s not that he can destroy all five enemy units by himself.” Said Touji but he decided to see him anyway. He turned around and looked at the huge flat screen T.V. that showed the game being played. It showed Shinji’s C.S. standing along in front of the base. In front of him 5 enemy units stood with their weapons ready.

The enemy units started to shoot and the Shinji’s C.S. didn’t even move. The dust cloud started to form around him and soon he was covered from the view by the dust.

“See. I told you he would loose.” Said Touji.

“Hey look. That guy ain’t dead yet.” Some said.

Touji heard the guy and decided to see what’s happening. The next moment he remembered clearly. 8 heat seeking missiles flew out from the dust cloud. The missiles destroyed one of the enemy units. The other units were surprised.

The dust cleared and showed Shinji’s C.S. showing all it’s glory.

“What? How did he survive?” Touji asked

“Bro. I have no idea.” Said Rei

Shinji’s C.S. jettisoned it left shoulder missile launcher, since he already emptied. He flared its booster and headed straight to the closest enemy. In a matter of the second. He had pointed his gun in front of its face and fired. The head of the enemy unit was completely destroyed and fell. He used his other missile launcher and launcher 8 more to the enemy unit. The enemy dodged it but got a good hit on the leg and caused him to fall. Before he could get up Shinji was on him and sliced him in half with his laser beam sword. Then he saw on of last two remaining unit taking to air. He flared his booster ad headed straight toward him. Enemy’s unit was designed to carry heavy load and was not designed for the speed. So Shinji caught up to him immediately. Slicing him with his laser sword. The enemy unit blew up in the sky as a fire cracker.

The Unit that took of to air however was a distraction for Shinji. The other unit was charging up his Positron Rifle as Shinji was fighting in the air. When Shinji turned in the mid air to face him, The enemy fired. It went straight toward to Shinji but Shinji moved on the last moment and dodged. He charged toward the enemy unit flying very low. He flared his booster to its full power and straight toward the enemy. The enemy fired again but Shinji again moved on the last moment and dodged it. He took out his left hand and turned his laser sword on. And straight past the enemy. While passing he made sure the laser blade went through the units waist. The result is the enemy unit sliced in half on its waist.

The crowd outside cheered as they demanded for rerun. And his teammates were overjoyed. They had won the entrance exam. They are now the team. Of course Touji was mad. He wanted to be the best C.S. pilot and this newbe came out and bested him. He was really mad. But he tried to stay calm. After all he had to thank him for letting his team to join the competition.

Asuka was curious. This new guy Shinji, who had no experience with the C.S. emulator just beat the heck out of the 5 computer C.S.s How did he do that. And that fighting. It reminded her of something but couldn’t out a finger into it. She swore that she had seen that from somewhere.

She noticed that Shinji was getting out. She looked into his eyes that was staring right back at her. She was surprised to that coldness he usually showed was gone, and changed into that of desire or something like as reorganization or hope? or something similar.

Does he desired her ?

Shinji turned around and moved toward the worker who was calling to him. But before he move she noticed that his eyes changed back into its usual coldness. But then she also noticed something else.

His eyes also showed his loneliness and his broken heart.

So did you enjoy the 1st Chapter. I did change some stuff, and it may sound strange to you but trust me, it does fit the original NGE story line. Touji sister in this story IS Rei Ayanami. And Asuka IS sweet and Innocent style. And Shinji IS cold hearted boy. Cols hearted in Rei’s way. The truth on why they are like that will be told as you read the rest of the story. If you don’t like it then try reading my real story that I didn’t mix with NGE. I might publish it in few years.

Oh by the way. If you still can’t believe how did story fits into the NGE time line. Just read the title. You might get a hint.
