“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”
Shinji got up from the hospital bed screaming. He
had a dream. He dreamt of his father sending him into the robot named Eva and
let him fight the being known as Angels. He disagreed but for the sake of the
girl named Rei he went in and fought the angel. Than he was dead and was chased
by a creature.
‘Did I really pilot the Eva.’ He watched the news.
When the description of what happened yesterday matches a lot with what he
dreamt, he was scared that it was the truth. He would usually think about it
but now he was having a major headache. Some stuff did not even made sense. ‘Oh
well I will figure out later. These seems like some memories of past. But who
the heck is Eugene, Gohan, Tai and Ranma?’ Then he saw Rei. She was lying on
the movable bed, and was heavily bandaged. ‘My god it wasn’t a dream!” Then he
saw his father. He was talking to Rei and looked at him. He raised a hope of talking
to him but disappointed when he turned around.
“Such a cold man. He should at least praise his
son.”
Shinji turned and saw Misato. She was smiling at
him. “Hi came to pick you up.”
Shinji was glad to see her. Then his headache struck
him. It hurtled him. All 50 lives he had had suddenly entered his brain. Then
he blacked out.
“Hey Shinji? Shinji….. SHINJI!” Misato quickly moved and grabbed
falling Shinji and looked. He had fainted.

Shinji opened his eyes. He had enough experience to read his new memories before waking up. His name is Shinji. ‘Damn I’m Shinji from the Neon Geneses Evangelion. I never finished that show’ He got up. It was weird. He was born as the Shinji, and the memories just came back to him. ‘Well it’s like when I was Ranma’
“Hey you awake?” Shinji looked around He was in a
bedroom, and he saw Misato.
“Uh.. Yeah I’m okay. Is this your room?”
“Yeah. I moved your stuff here. Hope you don’t mind
living with me in this house.”
“No I don’t mind.”
“All right then come on outside. Dinners ready.”
Shinji got up and walked outside. This was his first time in NGE world. He had
been into Dragon Ball Z, Ranma ½, Gundam Wing, The Slayers, and a lot of world
based on Anime. This was fun. ‘Sure beats living as Eugene. Boy does Shinji
troubled kid or what.’ Shinji was mad at his father for abandoning him but he
remembered in the manga that there was good reason to it.
“Quack?” He turned and saw a penguin. He was little
bit taken back. “Don’t worry. He is Pen-Pen, my pet. He is harmless.” Shinji
just stared and headed for the table. He sat down and stared at the ‘food’. He
took a bite and gasp uggg. Cuff. Cuff.
“What’s wrong?”
“The food is bad.” Then he took another bite and
began eating. Well living with Akane helped a lot. “If it is bad why are you
eating it?”
“When you are hungry everything tastes good.”
“Oh anyway let’s split the chores. I’ll cook and
Monday then you cook next time and the me the next day like that okay?”
“Why don’t I cook everyday. I am experienced,”
“Okay then…Laundry.”
Shinji listened to Misato and split the chores. It
was really unfair but heck he have to wonder if she can actually manage them
all. When she finished He decided to ask.
“Is there any martial art Schools?”
“No I don’t think there is any. Speaking of school
you will start school tomorrow. You will have same class as Rei.”
“Alright.”

Shinji sat at the desk and ignored everybody. This
is the way he usually do. He never made any contact with others. After he was
introduced to the class he just sat there. Doing nothing. The class was talking
about the 2nd impact, and he was getting bored. It seems that that’s
all they talk about. He was just thinking about yesterdays event when he got
the message from unknown person.
“ARE YOU THE PILOT?”
He looked around but could not figure out who sent the mail. He just decided to ignore it. Then the message came again. When it came for the fourth time he decided to send the reply
Then the hell broke lose. Every single student was up and was asking the questions.
“How did you become the pilot?”
“Was it scary?”
“How does the cockpit looks like?”
“When did you start piloting?”
He just tucked his head and ignored. Or tried to. Nobody ever paid attention to him before. This was something new for Shinji. But not new for new Shinji.
Lunch time. He finally got rid of all the students. The transporting technique from Goku really helped. He was sitting alone and enjoying his lunch when two boys approached him. Without warning one of them attacked him. In instinct, Shinji jumped and dodged. However his body was not fit to fight. He was able to dodge them just barely. “Hey talk!” He yelled then the boy spoke. “Shut up because of you my sister is in hospital. Stand still like a man and get you punishment.” Then Shinji grabbed him and held him tight. “If I remember correctly all the civilians were suppose to be in their hiding spot. What was she doing outside? And do you think that I like piloting that thing? I hate it!” he let go of the boy. The boy just stood there and calmed down.
“I’m sorry. I was just mad.”
“It’s okay. I know how it feels.”
“You do?”
“Yeah.”
“I’m sorry I attack you. Can we be friends?” Shinji looked at him. He could use some friend. “Sure. I’m Ikari Shinji.”
“I’m Touji and this is Kensuki.”
“Hi nice to meet you. Don’t worry about Touji, he is always like that.” The boy named Kensuki said, smiling in his face.
“Don’t worry I’m used to it.”
“Hey you must be really great fighter. You just defeated me with out a sweat! No one beat me before” said Touji
“I’m just used to it. Anyway I’m really sorry about your sister. I hope she gets well.” Said Shinji
Silence
“Hey let’s go check out that new arcade. I heard that they got Evangelion game. Since you are the pilot, you must be really good at it.” Said Kensuki.
“Don’t bet on it.”
Shinji let his new friends lead him toward the arcade. He was glad to have new friends. Suddenly his life wasn’t boring anymore. It was getting rather fun. They started to laugh at the joke and he joined them. Yes the life was getting better. But still there is a little bit of problem called Eva and Angels. And he couldn’t wait to see Asuka. A girl he was supposed to fall in love with. Or the way he remembered he was suppose to. Was he? Damn. He should have finished the show when he had chance.

Shinji and his friends were walking to the park changing conversations He was glad to have friends. It beats living along. And he felt relief telling them all the dark secret, with his family he bottled up inside. Then his Hand phone rang. He stopped talking and answered it. It was Misato telling him that another angel was near. He signed.
“Uh guys I have to go. Another angel is coming.”
“Sure I’ll see you soon.” They both waved their hand. And watched their friend go.
“Come on let’s go to the shelter.” Touji suggested, and put his hand on his shoulder to drag him
“No”
“What!?”
“No. This is the only chance to put the battle in my camera. I always wanted to see the EVA. This is my chance.”
“You must be crazy.”
“I don’t care what you think I’m going.” With that Kensuki was gone. Touji signed and followed his best friend. After all he did want to see the EVA, piloted by his best friend.
Shinji stared at the 4th angel. It had squid like shape with purple tentacles. Those tentacles seems to be very dangerous. It was cutting through everything. He quickly analyzed the situation. Because of those tentacles the best way to attack it is to fire from long range where he can’t reach. But then there is a chance that he might miss and destroy a building or two. Or worst a shelter. He smiled. Those Tentacles reminded him of match with Kodachi. Her ribbons were also very dangerous. “Damn I wish I had a sword.” He said looking at his small weapon.
“What is that?” Misato said through the radio.
“I said I wish I had some kind of sword. Or better the Katana. I’m very good in it.”
“Hey that knife you are holding does work so stop complaining. “ Ritsuko said.
“Okay.” Shinji said as he charged.
“Shinji Wait!” Misato tried to stop him but it was too late.
Shinji charged. His Eva charging at full speed. He decided to see the angel as Kodachi. He just have to careful not to hit the tentacles. Angel noticed him and swung its tentacle. Unit 01 acted quickly and ducked. Another tentacle struck and this time Unit 01 moved to his side. He kept on dodging, When two tentacles struck at the same time, he backed flipped. He kept on flipping until he was far away. But the angel was ready for this. As soon as he landed he had to jump side way to avoid the tentacle.
“That’s impossible Shinji shouldn’t be at this level yet!” Ritsuko was going berserk reading the computer readouts. She was not the only one who could believe their eyes. That Eva looked like it was piloted by a professional.
Shinji was dodging all the attacks. While he was doing that he was searching for its weak spot. Obviously its only weak spot was the back. Which is its blind spot. At it was not very useful to Shinji who has a small knife. Tentacle struck again. Shinji moved but it took out the cable. He saw the readout changing to the internal battery power with 5 minute left on it. ‘Great’ he thought ‘This is getting better and better.’ On the other side of the radio People were telling him what to do, but he didn’t listen. That is simply because he swore he saw his friend on the street, taping him. He moved closer. And he was right. ‘What the heck are they doing here?’
“Shoot that’s Shinji’s friend.” Misato said.
“What are they doing there. And is that guy taping? That guy is a nut.” Ritsuko said.
“Shinji You have only 4 minutes of power left. Hurry!”
“I know Misato. Can you open the hatch please?”
“What!”
“I gonna try something but I don’t want to hurt my friend. Please.”
“All right. Opening the hatch.”
Kensuki and Touji were scared. They were watching Eva getting beat up and it was right front of him. It was HUGE. That think can step in them and they would become a street pizza! Touji promised to hurt Kensuki when they get out alive. Then he saw the hatch of the Eva open and saw Shinji get out. And he was telling them to get in. without thinking he grabbed Kensuki and climbed to the back of the Eva. Shinji quickly dragged them in, and sat on his seat. As soon as they were in the hatch closed and the screen came online.
“What are you guys doing here?” Shinji asked as he got up to his feet.
“Shinji you can ask the question later. We have only 2 minutes of power left hurry up!”
Touji and Kensuki were quiet. After all its their fault.
Unit 01’s eye were blazing as it charged toward the angel. The angel struck with its tentacles and Unit 01 started to dodge. It didn’t even bother to attack as it kept dodging.
“Dr. The temperature.. its. its dropping. The temperatures are dropping around the Unit01!” Maya said as she read the screen
“ What !” Ritsuko was surprised. The temperature doesn’t just drop like that. She read the screen and indeed it was low. At that temperature the Eva should have been frozen and yet it was still moving. Then unthinkable happened.
“Come on attack it !” Touji yelled at his friend. The screen now said only one minute of power left.
“I now what I am doing. Just few more steps and…… NOW.”
The Eva was very close to Angel when it stopped moving and lift his hand in the air.
“Hyro Shoten Ha!” Shinji yelled and Eva roared. The a gust of wind was created. No it wasn’t just a gust of wind. It was a tornado and it reaped upward. Taking the angel with it. When the Wind died down Unit 01 was standing in the middle of the destruction. The angel landed about mile away badly damaged. Unit 01 started to run toward it. When the angel got up it met its doom when Unit 01 pummeled at it.
“Kenchu Tensu Amugrican!” Shinji yelled as he delivered about 200 punched to the angel. All aimed to its core. Soon the core was shattered. When angel realized that its core was destroyed, it grabbed unto the Eva and self destructed. Only Eva was not there when it self destruct.
When the light went down The Eva stopped moving as its powers were all drained. Shinji signed and gave his friend a deadly glare. Touji and Kensuki were frozen when they saw his best friends angry eye.

“I still say it was stupidest thing that person can do.” Said Shinji as he helped his friends get out of the Entry Plug.
“All right I’m sorry. Geez that’s 6th time I said that.” Said Touji
“And we can definitely arrest you for that.” Said Ritsuko who just came out from the command center. Touji and Kensuki gulped. “But if you promise not to tell anyone we will let you go.” Touji and Kensuki nodded. “You are lucky that Misato took pity on you.” She turned to Shinji. “Shinji I like to have word with you.”
“Alright. Let me get changed.”
“I will wait for you at my lab.”
After changing and taking shower to get rid of all the LCL on his body, he headed toward Dr. Ritsuko’s lab. He went in and found Dr. And his father. Dr. Ritsuko said first.
“I like to talk about the moves you did today, while battling the angels. How were you able to do that.”
“I learn that from some people. I have been learning martial art for a while now. The Hyro Shoten Ha, the one that looks like a tornado, he basically, using your cold ki and opponents hot ki to create a tornado.”
“Ki?”
“Yeah, I think the scientific term is Bionic Energy.”
“You kidding.”
“No I am not kidding.”
“Do not lie to us Shinji.” His father spoke to him.
“Father why would I lie to you. You have abandon me for long time so you don’t even know what I did during all those years. What proof do you have that I am lying?”
His father was quiet after that
“I though those thing called ki only existed on fictions, and legends.” Ritsuko said as her curiosity rose.
“No they are real. Her let me show you.” He hold up his hand and soon his emotion based ki was formed on his hand. Ritsuko was dumbfounded as she saw the glowing bionic energy. She have heard of those, she thought it as just a legend. But now it was real. Right before her eyes.
“Go ahead. This is my emotional ki and currently I am using my confidence.” Ritsuko just nodded her head and touched the glowing energy, as soon as she touched she felt the confidence. She gasped at the feeling.
Commander Ikari was amazed at the glowing energy. When he saw Ritsuko touch the ki he decided to touch the energy ball. He gasped as he felt it too. The confidence of his son.
“Dr. Ritsuko. File his talent as top secret. Do not I repeat do not tell to anybody, Not even the upstairs.” Commander Ikari said. Ritsuko understood. Even the Upstairs part. “And also see if you can give him the Katana he wanted to have.” He added
“Yes sir.” Then he left.
Shinji and Ritsuko talked more. Specially about the ki. While they were talking the door opened and Misato came in.
“Shinji What the hell was that about. How in the world did you create a tornado and punch about 200 times in a single second.”
Shinji started to get nervous as he looked at Ritsuko. “I’m sorry but the information is counted as Top Secret. Commanders orders.” She said
“Uhhh. You can tell me. Please.”
“Sorry all I can tell you is that he is professional Martial artist.”
Shinji smiled as she saw two women argue. He had been in this world for about a month and he already screwed up. Oh well.

Shinji did enjoy this world. Piloting Eva was fun in a way. But his fellow pilot Rei always bother him. She was so…. Quiet. She didn’t even have any parents and lived along in a apartment that looks like a dumpster.
He remembered clearly that day. Ritsuko asked him to deliver her the new ID card for her. And somehow he ended up on top of her while she was naked. What was surprising is that she doesn’t seems to care.
He was now sitting on his desk, going through his memories for some info. The second child will be here soon. He better get prepared, since she is one of the girl that is possibly destined to him. He need to do something about Rei. She has no emotion at all. Maybe he can help her.
“Hey Shinji! Can’t you here me! Can’t you even hear the alarm! It’s the Angel attack !” Misato came in yelling at him at broke his thought.
“What an Angel attack?”
“Yes now come on. You better get ready. We have 15 minutes.”
So there he is. Sitting in is Eva doing checkups for launch.
“Launch!” Misato yelled and the Eva went up the passage way in lightening speed.
Shinji was thrown down from the high G that was created by lift off. And as soon as he was out Misato was yelling at him
“ Shinji look out!”
Shinji watched in horror as the building in front of him melted and the beam of blue light come straight at him. He put his AT field and his ki shield in reaction. But the intense heat caught him off guard and his shields went down. He was only able to hold off for few seconds, before the beam penetrated the shields and hit him on the chest.
Shinji screamed in pain. The pain was intense. He felt the Eva going down back into the base, but the heat was still there. From the heat Shinji fainted.
He slowly opened his eyes. At first he wondered he died and was in another dimension but he saw the familiar sealing. And his memories were same. He opened his eyes fully and saw that he was in Nerv Hospital. He also saw that Rei was next to his bed.
“Rei?”
“I was sent my Major to give you the mission briefing,” She opened her little book and said “At exactly at 2400, Nerv will carry out operation Yashimo. Unit 01 will use Prototype positron Rifle, at the 5th angel. And in case Unit 00 will shield unit 01. You have 3 hours to get ready.” She gave him the package and left. The package was his plug suit.
Shinji was thoughtful. The beam. He swear that it was Ki blast. Not just any ki. It was the pure ki. But he couldn’t tell. If that is the ki, it will just repel the positron beam. So he have to shoot before the angel forces. If the angel was shooting something else, the beam would collide causing huge blast or it will try to push each other.
He Looked at his right and saw Rei also at deep thought. She doesn’t seems to be concerned a lot about the battle that is about to take place.
“Ayanami?” He said
“Yes”
“Aren’t you afraid?”
“No.”
“Well I am. I don’t want to die yet. That beam. I don’t think I can fight that. After all Evas can’t do something similar to that with out aid of the gun. Even if Eva do similar energy blast. The impact will destroy everything that surrounds it. Including me. I don’t think AT field can hold that kind of blast.”
“Don’t worry. I will protect you.” Then she got up “Good bye” then she left
Shinji was surprised. Good bye? What does she mean by that? He got up and went for his Eva, and went in it was almost time.
<Okay Shinji. We are intrusting all the power of Japan to you. You better get this right.> Misato said through the intercom.
“I’ll try. Misato.”
Shinji loaded the fuse into the rifle. And aimed. He waited as the two lines aligned. And as soon as the line was aligned he fired. But he was not the only one. The angel fired as well. The two beam closed each other. Everyone thought that it will collide each other, but to everyone’s surprise the beam repelled each other. Going in the separate way. Shinji’s guess was correct. It was Ki blast.
He quickly changed to another fuse and waited for the rifle to recharge. But the rifle didn’t charge at all.
“Misato ! something is not right, the rifle is not charging!”
< Dame! The last blast damaged the amplifier ! Shinji watch out!>
He watched as the beam came straight at him. It was aimed at him. He closed his eyes and got ready for the impact. His ki shield was ready to repel, and he was ready for the sudden heat. But the impact never came. He opened his eyes and saw Rei’s Orange Eva using the shield to block the beam. To his horror the shield was not working. The shield was melting and the armor of the Eva was slowly melting to.
‘Good bye.’ He remembered her said that before the battle. He didn’t want her to die. He jumped and grabbed her. They both got away from the beam and they were all right. The beam it somewhere in the background and blew up.
<Nice Job Shinji. Look out Angel is ready to fire again.>
He looked up at the angel far away. He was indeed ready to fire. He did only think he could do.
“Doctor! AT The readings are going all over the place!” Maya yelled at Dr. Akagi.
“I know I could tell from all the alarms! Where is all the energy coming from!” Ritsuko was furious.
“It’s from the Eva.!”
“Oh my god LOOK!” Misato yelled and pointed at the screen.
Shinji collected his hand together and got into the ready position.
“Ka”
If his theory was collect it will work. But there will be huge blast of the beam will push each other.
“Me”
He Wanted to show his father that he is not the weakling who runs away.
“Ha”
He had to do this. He have to save the whole entire earth. Tough job for 14 years old kid.
“Me”
Best of all he needed to save Rei
“HA!”
He yelled and trusted his hand forward as angel shoot his beam. Unit 01 also shot similar beam at angel. But it was yellow in color and was a lot bigger.
In the command center, all workers who watched was speechless, Including Ritsuko “My god! The Eva can’t hold that kind of energy! It will blow up!” she yelled
Shinji felt the Ki blast he shoot. It was huge. More bigger than that of the angel. But something was not right. His hands were burning. It felt like as if it was burning. The two beams collided and there was huge impact. Shinji was almost thrown back at the impact but he held up. The two blast was holding on, pushing each other in opposite direction.
Shinji still felt like his hands were melting and failing him Then it hit him. The Evas have different structure then What he felt was Unit01’s system melting from the intense heat. He have to stop it or he will die. Not that he care but he still don’t want to die. Than he saw Rei’s Eva next to him. He made up his mind.
“All the systems are going offline! The Eva can’t take this kind of energy!” Maya yelled. Then everyone in the room hear the Roar. They looked up and saw Unit01’s eye blazing with light. And the blast got bigger and more powerful
“All the systems are offline! That’s impossible!” Ritsuko was all over the computer to find the answer!
Shinji felt it. He felt the changes in his Eva. It was as if the Eva coming alive. He used this chance to put every energy at his ki blast.
“HYYAAAAAAAA!” He yelled and the blast pushed away angel’s beam and struck home. His blast went through and destroyed the core. Angel now lifeless fell from the sky and landed.
His Eva felt to the ground. The armor was melted and was cruel looking. He couldn’t move his Eva because of the molten armor. So He rejected. He had to save Rei. He grabbed for the main hatch. In angel he twisted around. And opened it and threw it away and landed about 10ft away.
“Rei!” He yelled as he went for the orange Eva. He had to save Rei. But he needed to open up that hatch, and it was melted and was joined together when it was cooled down. This was not good. So he did what he could only do. “Bakusai Tatketsu!”
“Screens coming online sir.”
The screen came back to picture showing everyone in command center what is going on. They saw Eva unit01 with out the hatch. The camera adjusted to the Entry Plug. The plug was opened. Not from the emergency hatch, but from the main hatch! It wasn’t opened either. It was ripped open, and thrown back about 10ft! the hatch itself weights about a ton.
“What the hell? Shinji did that?” Misato said.
“I..Impossible. The hatch itself weights about a ton! He couldn’t throw it that far!”
The camera moved and showed Eva unit 00. There they saw Shinji on top of the Eva where the entrance to plug is.
“How in the world did he get up there?”
They were more surprised as Shinji poked at the Exterior Armor and the orange armor blew away in small pieces. Every jaw dropped into the floor, except Commander Ikari.
“That.. That’s impossible! The armor. It blew away in pieces, with just the poke of the finger!”
Then nest thing they know is that Shinji Grabbing for the plug and lifting it. He pulled it out of the Eva and carried it to the ground. As soon as he dropped the plug He ripped it open with his bare hands, showing Rei inside.
The jaws were still glued to the floor. He just PULLED entire Plug and CARRIED it outside, and RIPPED it open. Is he even human?
Shinji ripped open the main hatch of the Rei’s main hatch. Inside there was Rei. He felt the tears coming out.
“Rei you are okay.”
Rei lifted her head and saw Shinji. He was crying.
“Why are you crying.” She said in her soft voice.
“Don’t say that. Don’t say goodbye before going into the battle. Its just too sad.”
“I’m sorry. I don’t know any feelings. I wish I know what I could do at this situation.”
“You could smile.” He said
Rei stared at him then her usual emotionless face shifted slowly and she was smiling. Shinji looked at it and felt great.

“Okay so you are saying that that blast was ki based?” Ritsuko asked. After the battle. She was asking Shinji about all the moves he did. For hours he was explaining to her, and she seems to understand.
“Yes”
Ritsuko felt relieved. What he said did make sense, and MAGI confirmed that it too. Shinji did have total control of his Bionic energy.
“Shinji. I suggest you not to use this power often, and try to hide it as much as you can. There are a lot of difficulties because of this. I’m not suggesting not to use it, but try to hide it as much as you can. If anybody sees this, you will be in deep trouble. You can use your martial art skill, but try not to use your special techniques. Your last two battles were classified as top secret and it cannot be made into public. Not even your friends.”
“Uh Okay.”
“And Shinji, When other pilot comes, Don’t tell them either.”
“Okay. So only person who know is, you Rei, My father, and some other technicians right?”
“Right.”
“Okay I won’t tell anybody else. By the since you have to change the whole armor of my Eva. Could you change the color too? Purple is not my color.”
“Sure what color do you prefer.”
“Red.”
“It’s taken by Unit02”
“Black?”
“Also taken”
“Umm. Gray?”
“Okay gray it is. Gray with black and white patch.”
“Thanks a lot. I will be leaving now.” Shinji waved goodbye and left.
“Man I really screwed up this world. Thank god I have second chance. I wonder how Skuld is doing.” He murmured himself. Luckily no one heard it.
